Since she has been in practice, the importance of continuing dental education and involvement in the community have been of utmost priority.
She is a member of the Mount Baker Dental Society, the Washington State Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. She is also an active member in the Robert L. Bruna Study Club and others plus the Whatcom Alliance for dental care.

Darcy understands the importance of family and has incorporated that attitude into how she treats her patients.

Dr. Schmidt's philosophy on Dentistry:
"I believe that as dentists we are treating the whole person, not just the mouth. Science has revealed connections between oral and systemic health. My goal as a dentist is to also treat the person, by listening to their concerns and desires. A person's smile is a very important part of who they are. I want my patients to feel good about their teeth. By working together we can set achievable goals for a beautiful and healthy smile."
